SMS assets overview

SMS Assets are SMS messages that can be used in your SMS campaigns or in SMS shapes within journey campaigns.

Accessing SMS assets

To access SMS assets on an account, users can select More > Asset Manger > click on the All dropdown > SMS.

This will provide users with an itemization of the existing SMS assets on the account.

Duplicating SMS Assets

The option to duplicate an asset is available within the options menu for that asset. Duplicating an asset allows users to create a copy of the asset that is independent of any campaigns the original asset may be assigned to.

Archiving SMS assets

The option to archive an asset is available to users from within the options menu for that asset. Archiving an asset will remove it from the active account. Assets assigned to an existing campaign are not eligible to be archived and will require archiving the campaign beforehand.

Restoring Archived SMS Assets

SMS Assets that have been previously archived can be restored from the Archived view of the SMS Manager by taking the following steps:

  1. Select the dropdown at the top right and click Archived to access the archive.
  2. Click the options menu for the asset.
  3. Select Restore.

Applying SMS assets to a campaign

Applying an SMS asset to a campaign will vary depending on the type of campaign that users are interested in working with.

NOTE: SMS messages are not currently supported for Playbook campaigns.

Using SMS assets for standard SMS campaigns

To use an SMS asset for a standard single-send SMS campaign, users can save the asset as a template by clicking on the More actions menu > Save as template > Save.

When creating a new standard SMS campaign, users will then have the option to select that asset's template in the Template Manager under My Saved Templates.

Using SMS assets in journey campaigns

To use an SMS asset within a journey campaign, users can follow these steps:

  1. Select the Edit button on the top left to enter the journey editor canvas.
  2. Click the + node in the journey where the SMS message is needed.
  3. Click SMS in the Actions menu to add an SMS shape to the journey.
  4. Select Choose Existing to view the existing SMS messages.
  5. Select the SMS asset that you'd like to apply to this shape.
  6. Click Add SMS to add it to the SMS shape in the journey.

Settings for SMS assets in a campaign

Once applied to a campaign, the settings for SMS assets are managed in the Setup step of that campaign editor.

  • Accounts that have Sender ID enabled can manage the configuration in their account's settings by selecting Settings > Channels > SMS > Sender ID.
  • Accounts that do not have a Sender ID enabled will have the SMS message sent using the phone number that is connected to their account based on the recipient location.
