User Session activity and attributes

Overview

In Ortto, User Session activities are recorded when known users visit your website(s) with the tracking code installed. This article provides an overview of the tracked attributes with descriptions, helping you use them in filters, reports, and other insights.

Accessing the User Session activity

To access the User Session activity page, go to CDP > Activities > User session.


User Session activity and attributes

The following attributes are tracked when a User Session activity is recorded for a known contact. You can use these attributes to build filters, reports, and more.

NOTE: Some attributes may not be tracked in every session, as we can only capture data made available by the contact's browser. For example, if the browser does not provide the Browser version, that attribute will not be tracked.

A unique identifier for the web session.

Pages visited

Number

The total number of pages viewed during the session.

Page URLs

Text

The URLs of the pages visited during the session.

Base page URLs

Text

The base URLs (without parameters) of the pages visited. EX: If the Page URL is www.example.com?utm_source=Ortto, the Base page URL will be www.example.com

Page titles

Text

The titles of the pages visited during the session.

Page paths

Text

The paths of the pages visited (e.g., /about or /contact).

First/last page URL

Text

The URL of the first/last page viewed in the session.

First/last page title

Text

The title of the first/last page viewed.

The path of the first/last page viewed.

Referrer

Text

The URL of the page that linked to the session’s first page.

UTM campaign source

Text

The traffic source from UTM parameters (e.g., Google).

UTM campaign medium

The type of traffic from UTM parameters (e.g., email).

UTM campaign name

The name of the marketing campaign from UTM parameters.

UTM campaign term

The paid search keyword from UTM parameters.

Browser

The name of the web browser used during the session. EX: Google Chrome.

Browser version

The version of the web browser used.

Platform

The operating system (OS) used during the session. EX: Windows.

The type of device used (e.g., desktop, mobile).

Language

The language setting of the browser.

Screen resolution

The screen resolution (width x height) of the device.

Screen width

The screen width in pixels.

Touch screen

Boolean

Whether the device has a touch screen (true/false).

Geo

The country of the contact.

Region
