Managing capture widgets

Once you have added one or more capture widgets, you can view, edit, search, switch on or off, duplicate, archive, restore, delete, filter these capture widgets, as well as organize them in folders through the Capture widgets page.

Search capture widgets

Use Search to find all capture widgets where part of the name matches your search term.

The search feature looks in all folders on the Capture widgets page, and restricts the search to a folder, when you have clicked into a folder.

Switch capture widgets on or off

Switch a capture widget on to activate and show on your website to capture data from your website users who are shown the widget. Switch a capture widget off to stop it from showing on your website and collecting data.

NOTE: Switching off a capture widget removes it from the capture widget count of your Ortto plan (for pricing purposes).

To switch a capture widget on or off:

  1. On the Capture widgets page, locate the capture widget to switch on or to switch off. You will be able to check the current state to see if it is already in the required state.
  2. Click on the capture widget to open its capture widget details page.
    • Click OFF to turn the capture widget on when it is off, or
    • Click ON to turn the capture widget off when it is on.

Filter capture widgets

Use the All filter drop down to toggle the list of capture widgets between All, capture widgets that are switched On or Off, and those that are Archived.

Duplicate capture widgets

Duplicate an existing capture widget to create and edit a new one. Edit the targeting configuration, content, or appearance of the new capture widget to suit your needs.

To duplicate a capture widget, locate the capture widget to duplicate, click the … more icon > Duplicate and modify as necessary.

Archive capture widgets

Archive capture widgets when they are no longer needed, to remove them from the capture widget list and search results, ensure they can not accidentally be turned on, or to prepare for their deletion.

Archived capture widgets will not show in the capture widget list or in search results (unless you search from within the archived list).

You can archive individual, or multiple capture widgets at the same time.

To list and search archived capture widgets, use the filter from the capture widgets page.

To archive an individual capture widget:

  1. On the Capture widgets page, locate the capture widget to archive.
  2. Switch off the capture wizard unless it is already switched off.
  3. Click the … more icon > Archive.

To archive more than one or more capture widgets:

  1. On the Capture widgets page, select the checkboxes next to the capture widgets you wish to archive. Alternatively, you can select multiple capture widgets to archive by searching by part of the capture widget name, then select one or more of the checkboxes which appear when you hover over a capture widget.
  2. Click the Archive button.

Restore capture widgets

Restore an archived capture widget to move it back to the capture widgets page.

To restore one or more capture widget:

  1. On the Capture widgets page, use the filter drop down to show the list of archived capture widgets.
  2. Select the checkboxes next to the capture widgets you wish to restore. Alternatively, you can select multiple the archived capture widgets to restore by searching by part of the capture widget name, then select one or more of the checkboxes which appear when you hover over a capture widget.
  3. Click the Restore button.

To restore an individual capture widget:

  1. On the Capture widgets page, use the filter drop down to show the list of archived capture widgets.
  2. Locate the capture widget to restore.
  3. Click the … more icon > Restore.

Delete capture widgets

Delete capture widgets to permanently remove them from your Ortto CDP. Capture widgets must fist be archived to be able to delete them.

To delete one or more capture widgets:

  1. Archive the capture widgets you wish to delete.
  2. On the Capture widgets page, use the filter drop down to show the list of archived capture widgets.
  3. Select the checkboxes next to the capture widgets you wish to delete. Alternatively, you can select multiple the archived capture widgets to delete by searching by part of the capture widget name, then select one or more of the checkboxes which appear when you hover over a capture widget.
  4. Click the Delete button.

To delete an individual capture widget:

  1. On the Capture widgets page, use the filter drop down to show the list of archived capture widgets.
  2. Locate the capture widget to delete.
  3. Click the  more icon > Delete.

Capture widget folders

Capture widget folders enable you to organize and group the capture widgets.

To create a new folder:

  1. On the Capture widgets page, click New Folder.
  2. Type the name for the new folder, click Create.

Move capture widgets to folders

Move capture widgets to a folder to group related capture widgets together.

To move one or more capture widgets to a folder:

  1. On the Capture widgets page, select the checkboxes next to the capture widgets you wish to move to a folder. Alternatively, you can select multiple capture widgets to archive by searching by part of the capture widget name, then select one or more of the checkboxes which appear when you hover over a capture widget.
  2. Click Move to, and:
    • select the folder to move the widgets to that folder, or
    • select New folder, enter the name for the new folder then select the folder to move the widgets to that folder.
