Pipedrive actions

This page describes all Pipedrive actions which are added to your Ortto account after integrating Ortto with Pipedrive when configuring Pipedrive as a new data source.

These actions are available in Ortto’s journey and playbook campaigns, and allow you to update object records in Pipedrive service itself, as well as fields in your Ortto account’s CDP.

The Pipedrive actions described on this page are available from either the:

  • left Action > Pipedrive section of a journey campaign (in edit mode) or
  • Actions option > New action button > Pipedrive tab on the resulting New playbook action page of a playbook campaign.

NOTE: Testing an action will actually execute the action and the results will be noticeable in your Pipedrive service.


Update person field

The Update person field action allows you to update people’s records in Pipedrive. The Pipedrive object types available are based on those imported after integrating Ortto with Pipedrive.

Upon choosing one of these actions:

  1. On the Setup page, at Field, click Select to choose the person field to update.
  2. Value, input a value or choose from an existing Pipedrive value, as appropriate.
  3. Click either:
    • Test action — to test the Update person field action.
    • Create — to add the action to your journey or playbook campaign.

Assign person owner

The Assign person owner action allows you to update people’s records in Pipedrive. The Pipedrive object types available are based on those imported after integrating Ortto with Pipedrive.

Upon choosing one of these actions:

  1. On the Setup page, at Person owner, click Current owner to access a list of other owners.
  2. Select the relevant owner to assign to the person.
  3. Click either:
    • Test action — to test the Assign person owner action.
    • Create — to add the action to your journey or playbook campaign.

Update deal field

The Update deal field action allows you to update deal records in Pipedrive. The Pipedrive object types available are based on those imported after integrating Ortto with Pipedrive.

Upon choosing one of these actions:

  1. On the Setup page, at Field, click Select to choose the deal field to update.
  2. At Value, input a value or choose from an existing Pipedrive value, as appropriate.
  3. Click either:
    • Test action — to test the Update deal field action.
    • Create — to add the action to your journey or playbook campaign.

Add a deal

The Add deal action allows you to update deal records in Pipedrive. The Pipedrive object types available are based on those imported after integrating Ortto with Pipedrive.

Upon choosing one of these actions:

  1. On the Setup page, populate the deal name.
  2. At Pipeline, choose an existing Pipedrive value.
  3. At Deal value, type the monetary value of the deal in the first input box, and click Select at the second box to choose the relevant currency.
  4. At Deal stage, click Select to choose the relevant stage.
  5. At Deal status, click Select to choose the relevant status.
  6. At Owner of deal, click Select to select the relevant owner to assign to the deal.
  7. Click either:
    • Test action — to test the Add a deal action.
    • Create — to add the action to your journey or playbook campaign.

Update deal

The Update deal action allows you to update deal records in Pipedrive. The Pipedrive object types available are based on those imported after integrating Ortto with Pipedrive.

Upon choosing one of these actions:

  1. On the Setup page, populate the deal name.
  2. At Pipeline, choose an existing Pipedrive value.
  3. At Deal stage, click Select to update the stage.
  4. At Deal status, click Select to update the status.
  5. At Owner of deal, click Select to update the deal owner.
  6. Click either:
    • Test action — to test the Update deal action.
    • Create — to add the action to your journey or playbook campaign.

Schedule activity

The Schedule activity action allows you to schedule activity objects in Pipedrive. The Pipedrive object types available are based on those imported after integrating Ortto with Pipedrive.

Upon choosing one of these actions:

  1. On the Setup page, at Assign to, click Select to choose an owner for the activity.
  2. At Subject, type in a value or populate the field using merge tags.
  3. At Notes, type a note about the activity, as required.
  4. Select the activity’s TypeDue dateDue time, and Duration.
  5. To link the activity to the most recent deal created, select the checkbox at Link to deal.
  6. Click either:
    • Test action — to test the Schedule activity action.
    • Create — to add the action to your journey or playbook campaign.

NOTE: The activity will be added to whichever is the latest deal created in your Pipedrive account, which could be as a result of an Ortto action, or created directly in your Pipedrive account.


Add note

The Add note action allows you create note records in Pipedrive. The Pipedrive object types available are based on those imported after integrating Ortto with Pipedrive.

Upon choosing one of these actions:

  1. On the Setup page, at Note, type in a value or populate the field using merge tags.
  2. To link the activity to the most recent deal created, select the checkbox at Also add note to latest deal.
  3. Click either:
    • Test action — to test the Add note action.
    • Create — to add the action to your journey or playbook campaign.

NOTE: The note will be added to whichever is the latest deal created in your Pipedrive account, which could be as a result of an Ortto action, or created directly in your Pipedrive account.


Add a lead

The Add a lead action allows you to create lead records in Pipedrive. The Pipedrive object types available are based on those imported after integrating Ortto with Pipedrive.

Upon choosing one of these actions:

  1. On the Setup page, populate the Lead name.
  2. At Lead value, type the monetary value of the deal in the first input box, and click Select at the second box to choose the relevant currency.
  3. At Owner of lead, click Select to select the relevant owner to assign to the deal.
  4. Click either:
    • Test action — to test the Add a lead action.
    • Create — to add the action to your journey or playbook campaign.

Update organization field

The Update organization field action allows you to create lead records in Pipedrive. The Pipedrive object types available are based on those imported after integrating Ortto with Pipedrive.

Upon choosing one of these actions:

  1. On the Setup page, at Field, click Select to choose the organization field to update.
  2. At Value, input a value or choose from an existing Pipedrive value, as appropriate.
  3. Click either:
    • Test action — to test the Update deal field action.
    • Create — to add the action to your journey or playbook campaign.
