AI filters

Overview

AI filters allow users to create filters across the app by simply describing the filter they want, without needing to navigate through using the Filter builder step by step.

EX: Typing 'contacts based in Europe' will automatically create a filter for all contacts with their Country field containing any European country.

This makes it quick and easy to build filters, from simple conditions like filtering by fields, to more complex ones involving multiple fields and activities.

Managing AI filters

AI filters can be used throughout the app wherever normal filters can be created. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • People & Organizations page
  • Audiences
  • Journeys
  • Playbooks
  • Reports
  • Capture widgets
  • Scores

TIP: To help make Ortto AI smarter and more reliable across the app, we strongly recommend adding descriptions to fields and activities. This will train the AI to understand the purpose of your custom data, enabling it to make more accurate decisions when analysing that data.

Creating a filter with AI

People & Organizations page

On the People and Organizations page, the AI filter input area will automatically appear at the bottom. You can create your filter using plain sentences and press Enter, or click the blue arrow. AI will then interpret your request and generate the most relevant filter.

Refining a filter

If a suggestion is suitable, click it to apply the new filter. If none of the suggestions are suitable, click None of these are suitable, provide feedback on what the filter should have been, and submit.

AI filters across the app

AI filters are available anywhere in the app where normal filters can be used.

EX: To use an AI filter in a capture widget, click + Add condition under the Recipients tab > Create filter with AI, then enter your filter.

Filter errors and inconsistencies

Whenever our AI can't generate a filter based on the criteria you've entered, an error will be shown. In these cases, we recommend making slight adjustments to the filter, simplifying or clarifying it and trying again.

We log all errors internally to fine-tune the AI and make it more reliable and powerful for users.

If the AI creates the wrong filter for an obvious condition, or if a filter cannot be generated at all, feel free to contact our Support team, and we will investigate further.
